KRAGUJEVAC,
April 9th and 11th, "Zastava" Car Factory, FRY

"Zastava" factory was from day one of the Kosovo crisis surrounded by a live shield of workers, who forced by existantial crisis which eventually nevertheless struck them, decided to protect the factory which meant everything to them from bare existance to an inheritance passed on from their ancestors who also worked in that same factory and same place for ages now... What follows is an epilogue not one of them wished for... The epilogue is that now there are 38,000 people left without employment.

April 9th

The attack started around 01:10. Several sections of the factory were damaged with 6 missiles. These were: mechanical processing plant for industry vehicles, energy supply plant (which besides supplying the plant's heating requirements was also used to provide heating for one half of Kragujevac). The forge, also situated within the complex, was hit with 2 missiles and completely destroyed. 124 workers were wounded and 2 of them went onto surgery.

April 11th,

The complex was struck in two waves around 03:00. In the 1st wave (02:45) were hit the following sections of the complex with 8 missiles: laquer and paint section, assembling sections for civilian cars (YUGO, Zastava 101, Florida), machinery assembling for civilian cars. The administration building was also targeted instead of which a guardhouse was hit. In the 2nd wave, mear 10 minutes later, the same sections were struck again this time with 6 missiles. 36 workers were wounded.
