NIS, East Serbia Nis, once Serbian war capital, gate between east and west, is among oldest cities on Balkan.  Nis has 175 000 citizens. It was bombed extensively during the NATO air campaign. During these
bombing runs that were supposed to target only military structures many civilian objects were
destroyed including: Tobbaco factory,  Machine industry, civilian airport, Industrial part of the
town and a number of civilian houses and villages around the Nis that were hit by the missfire.
One of NATO targets was also an army ambulance which was also used for treatmant of civilians.
Several people were killed and several dozens were injured during these attacks.
