IVANJICA,
Satelite station in West Serbia, April 13th and April 20th
In their bombing runs NATO airplanes have also targeted a small town Ivanjica in central Serbia.
The target of their attacks was sattelite station near Ivanjica. This extremely valuable object
is property of Serbia Telecom and it's building was funded by PTT Yugoslavia and Italian partners.
The first bombing occured April 13rh, when the sattelite station was hit with one missile which
totaly disabled it. This sattelite station has no military purpose and it was used for telephone
communications with foreign coutries. By disabling it NATO has cut off a large part of International
phone communications. The sattelite station was attacked again despite being disabled after the
first attack at April 20th. This time 5 missiles were targeted at the station and it was totaly
destroyed. The damage is massive and it ranges to more than 10 million US dollars. Why did NATO
wanted to cut off the phone lines beetween Yugoslavia and the world?? Is it affraid that the truth
might leak out?? We don't know, we can only gues. But we surely know that this attack, like many
before it, didn't destroy anything of military purpose.
