BELGRADE,
April 4th
Several NATO missiles have hit the heating plant in New Belgrade. This heating plant is used only
for the heating of the civilian homes in this part of the city.
April 21st
4 missiles have hit the building of business centre "Usce" (ex-CK) in downtown Belgrade. The NATO
officials told that this building was of military interest becouse inside there were the offices
of the Slobodan Milosevic's Serbian Socialist Party and the TV station "Kosava" of his daughter
Marija. They did not mention that besides those two the building also housed the offices of at
lest 20 more private companies. The antenna on the top of the building was used by a large number
of independent radio and TV stations so this attack was probably made to shut down all the media
in the country (not just the goverment one's).
April 23rd
Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) building was partially destroyed. At least 10 people were killed
and 18 wounded, said Yugoslav Minister for Information, Goran Matic. Most of the western media
houses used RTS information to be up to date, so their sources were also crippled. RTS building
had no military value, and all the personell inside were civilians.
April 30th
During the night beetween 29th and 30 of April the Belgrade probably endured the heaviest night
of NATO attacks. The missiles targeted several goverment buildings in the Belgrade. At least 10
civilian bystanders died in these attacks. One stranded missile hit a civilian house in the center
of the city, also destroying a nearby pub and waterworks.
