Aleksinac,
April 5/6, near Nis, FRY
 NATO missiles have hit the heart of a small miner's town Aleksinac, hitting a complex of civilian
buildings together with a marketplace and a small shopping mall. The surrounding houses as well
as the artisan shops were utterly demolished.  Precise data state that 2 residential buildings and
40 private houses were damaged during the attack. Some bricks, wooden boards and roof tiles were
tossed more than 500 feet from the site. Three two-story homes were also flattened.
In the town's center, shop windows were smashed.17 people were found dead under the ruins and
more than 40 were injured.
